Shower Soap

I’ve noticed some people have mid/quarter-life crises when they realize their high point in the day amounts to quotes such as:

“Oooo, buy one get one free! Snackwells. I like snackwells, you know.”
or

“Hey! I heard the Rite-Aid decided to switch to energy efficent light bulbs. Energy efficent.

They think its threat level red if the highlight of your day is something this simple.

I took a shower today, and I tried some new shower gel. I had been using my previous one for about 6 months, and, even though you don’t realize it, you become attached to it. It’s always there, waiting for you to squeeze it, rub it against you; you get the idea. Although I do miss the old gel, I discovered today while in the shower, that it was pretty exciting to try a new kind. It was the beginning of a brand new 6-month relationship. Let me tell you, it was a good start. The lather was soapy and fresh. You never forget your first time.

So, I say embrace the mundane, the simple, the bland. The little things give the big things flavor.
